Although I know a lot of artists who never express a moment's doubt about their work, I find it comforting to know that some of the great artists endured moments (sometimes years) of self-doubt. That list includes photographers Lillian Bassman and Brian Duffy who threw away or burned large portions of their archives of negatives, painter Georgia O'Keefe who destroyed almost all her early paintings, and many others who went on to achieve great success.
